Hello Everyone

Welcome to CloudAffaire and this is Debjeet.

In the last blog post, we have discussed performance insight in AWS RDS instance.

In this blog post, we will discuss AWS RDS events. We will also configure email notification on RDS events.

Events:

AWS RDS throws an event if a specific change, for example, RDS instance restart occurs. AWS RDS groups these events into categories that you can subscribe to so that you can be notified when an event in that category occurs. You can subscribe to an event category for a DB instance, DB snapshot, DB parameter group, or DB security group.

Next, we are going to configure event notification for our RDS instance.

Prerequisites for this demo:

  • AWS RDS instance.
  • AWS SNS topic with a validated subscription.
