Today we are going to discuss how to add additional disk in AWS Lightsail Linux instance. If you are running out of system disk space in your Lightsail instance, you can add additional disk to your Lightsail instance.

Prerequisites:

Step 1: Login to AWS management console.

Step 2: Navigate to Lightsail console.

Step 3: Select your Lightsail instance and in “Storage” tab, click on “Create new disk”.

Note: Additional cost is associated with creating a new disk.

Provide the disk size and name and click “Create disk”.

Step 4: Attach the newly created disk to your Lightsail instance.

From the drop-down select your Lightsail instance and click “Attach”.

Next, we need to mount and format the newly created disk to our Lightsail instance in order to use it.

Step 5: Connect to your Lightsail instance to format and mount the disk.
