In this blog post, we will discuss Get-Command cmdlet in PowerShell. You can use Get-Command cmdlet to get all PowerShell cmdlets available in your system, including cmdlets, aliases, functions, filters, scripts, and applications. Get-Command gets its data directly from the command code, unlike Get-Help, which gets its information from help topics.

Get-Command Cmdlet Syntax:

Get-Command Cmdlet Argument List:

  • -All: Indicates that this cmdlet gets all commands, including commands of the same type that have the same name.
  • -ArgumentList: Specifies an array of arguments.
  • -CommandType: Specifies the types of commands that this cmdlet gets.
  • -FullyQualifiedModule: Specifies modules with names that are specified in the form of ModuleSpecification objects.
  • -ListImported: Indicates that this cmdlet gets only commands in the current session.
  • -Module: Specifies an array of modules.
  • -Name: Specifies an array of names.
  • -Noun: Specifies an array of command nouns.
  • -ParameterName: Specifies an array of parameter names.
  • -ParameterType: Specifies an array of parameter names.
  • -ShowCommandInfo: Indicates that this cmdlet displays command information.
  • -Syntax: Indicates that this cmdlet gets only the syntax
  • -TotalCount: Specifies the number of commands to get.
  • -UseAbbreviationExpansion: Indicates using matching of the characters in the command to find with uppercase characters in a command.
  • -UseFuzzyMatching: Indicates using a fuzzy matching algorithm when finding commands.
  • -Verb: Specifies an array of command verbs.
